Shockwave therapy

A procedure that directs acoustic waves from a device outside the body toward a target area.

Context

The device, settings, body area and diagnosis matter when comparing research. The cited NICE overview concerns plantar fasciitis; it cannot establish benefits for every condition marketed under the shockwave label.
